This series arises from the project called Hashtag by Barbara and Ale, an Italian visual artists' duo. The topics they deal with (abandon, loneliness, construction, renewal, silence etc.) are common emotions and feelings: the artists invite the viewers to imagine what, who, where, when something happened.
It is like telling the emotion of a trip, but showing only the central stage; by removing part of the information gathered on the way, they shape something similar to a forgotten slide, lost by a distant relative, not knowing by whom it was taken, where or when.
In the case of the series Hashtag alps #snow they show the silence and magic of Swiss Alps. Barbara and Ale focused on small details which reveal the human presence, but the pictures celebrate the triumph of Nature's energy.
Barbara and Ale (until the beginning of 2014 known as Barbara Ceriani Basilico and Alessandro Mancassola) live and work in Milan.
